Great list. Somehow I just knew Marcus would be all over the zombies.

Count me as another Gen-Xer. Don't mind not being scored as "In" as long as I still get to be "in charge." Of something. ;)

Oh my, my. Multi-tasking is out? Dear me, someone forgot to tell all the people in the lives of women, whose brains are wired for multi-tasking to survive. How convenient for the men in our lives that multi-tasking is officially out. (You will forgive me, Brad?)

As for collaborative in and competetive out, spiritually-based indeed! But will the corporate climate approach it spiritually? Human nature is selfish and competetive. An arms race of goodness cannot do good for the sake of the mileage to be gained by works. True good is cloaked in sacrifice and humility—not everyday jargon for those not empowered by the Spirit of God. If you'll dare to call it for what it is (your schtick or not), I daresay it just might have a chance.

And, as our friend Doug Spurling says, "We're human beings, not human doings."

I'd like to offer another take on the Gen X question. I believe it is the very extremes you describe between Boomers and Gen Y that make Gen X leaders a critical part of the leadership mix. While I hate to oversimplify, boomers can tend to be content rich and communication/community challenged. Gen Y, on the other hand, lean toward community and communication with less interest in strategy/content/history. Gen X recalls the boomer past yet operates comfortably in the Gen Y future. Savvy and humble Gen Xers have the potential the be peacemakers and bridgebuilders.

I admit I skimmed but with a serious plan to digest this later. I promise. I also plan to share with a few others, especially the ones that multitask on their pda/iPhones and think how brilliant it is. Seriously, if I've called a meeting or set time aside for you, it's plain rude to "date" someone else right in front of me.
